I’m Cyril Joyce, a freelance translator and EU accredited conference interpreter with a background in sales and marketing. I worked for 16 years for different companies in the manufacturing and tourism sectors and now use my industry expertise to provide translation and interpreting services.

My main areas of specialisation are finance and economics, marketing, and commercial contracts. See the “translation” page for other areas of expertise.

I have always believed in lifelong learning and backing up industry experience with formal qualifications. For this reason, I hold three separate postgraduate qualifications: conference interpreting (Masters degree), translation studies (Postgraduate Diploma), and marketing (Professional Postgraduate Diploma)

I also believe that being a member of professional organisations is key to attaining excellence. For this reason, I have started a process, by becoming a “pre-candidate”, that will lead to me becoming a member of the world’s largest and most prestigious association of conference interpreters. I am also an Associate Member (AITI) of the Institute of Translators and Interpreters, in the UK. To attain this membership status, I have had professional references checked and approved by the ITI.
